Charles B. Brown authored a Trade Secrets chapter in a legal treatise published by Aspen/Wolters Kluwer.  In it, he addresses important topics and suggested practices for companies to protect their valuable trade secrets from misuse and theft.  It is well known that employees are the most common misappopriators of company Trade Secrets.  The publication is titled Corporate Compliance Handbook.  See Chapter 32 for the Confidential Information and Trade Secrets material.

While serving as President of the American Corporate Counsel Chicago Chapter, Charles Brown introduced a seminar hosted by The Chicago Bar Association entitled "Successful Partnering Between Inside and Outside Counsel."

Charles B. Brown Elected as President of the ACC Chicago Chapter

Charlie was elected by the board of directors of the Chicago Chapter of the ACC, America's third-largest chapter of the ACC, based in Washington, DC.  The ACC is the world's largest legal bar association serving who practice in the legal departments of corporations, associations and other private-sector organizations around the globe.  The ACC boasts membership of over 25,000 attorneys.  His duties will be to guide and supervise all activities of the chapter.  He will serve for the year 2002-2003.


Charles B. Brown Chosen as Kenilworth United Fund President

The Kenilworth United Fund is a civic organization founded to benefit area residents. The Fund raises money for such causes as the North Shore Senior Center, the Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Glenkirk Center, and many other important non-profit agencies.

Charles Brown will be serving on the ACC Chicago Editorial Panel for the Chicago Daily Law Bulletin and Chicago Lawyer.


Charles B. Brown Elected to Serve as Corporate Law Departments Committee Chairperson

Charles Brown was nominated to serve a second consecutive term as head of the Chicago Bar Association Committee Chairperson for the Corporate Law Departments Committee.  The Committee provides informational programming and other support to lawyers in corporate Legal Departments. Founded in 1874, The Chicago Bar Association is one of the oldest and most active metropolitan bar associations in the United States. The Association's voluntary membership of 22,000 consists largely of lawyers and judges from Cook County and the State of Illinois.
